Research Strategy Analytics firm had published a report today saying that Samsung has regained the top position as the world's largest smartphone vendor. The company achieved sales of Apple in terms of smartphones in the period January-March of this year.

According to the numbers provided by Strategy Analytics, Samsung sells smartphones worth $23.62 billion, $952 million jump from the previous quarter. By contrast, Apple was not doing anything bad, but not as good as the Koreans and sold $22.95 billion worth of phones - a huge $7.71 billion just less than a quarter ago.
Nokia is third with sales of $3.64 billion, followed closely by LG Electornics and its $2.95 billion in revenues from mobile phones.
IDC reports that Nokia was surpassed by Samsung even at its headquarters in Finland, taking only 33% of the smartphone market, compared to 36% of Samsung, the IDC reports; Apple has the third place with 14%.
In terms of the ratio of operating income, Apple heads this in Q1 2013 with 31%. Samsung is the next with 21.8% and LG is third with 4.1%.
